From Kumho Tyre Press Release
Nissan has appointed Kumho as the original equipment (OE) supplier for its 2021 Pathfinder SUV model. The new SUVs will leave the Nissan production line shod with Kumho’s Crugen HP71 pattern tyres in 255/60R18 size.
The Crugen range has been developed in tandem with the emergence of urban SUVs, and is now recognised worldwide as an SUV-exclusive tyre brand in its own right. Its strong centre section and improved shoulder blocks ensure responsive handling, while full depth sipes and wide circumferential grooves optimise the evacuation of water, improve wet weather traction and limit aquaplaning. Its excellent on-road performance makes the HP71 the perfect tyre for the new Pathfinder.
The supply agreement concerns Pathfinders destined for the North American market, the tyres for which are produced at Kumho’s major production facility at Macon, Georgia. The new Nissan contract is the latest addition to the tyre company’s burgeoning global OE portfolio that these days also includes Audi, BMW, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen, as well as the major Korean car manufacturers Hyundai and Kia.
