In a groundbreaking step towards inclusivity in Malaysia’s digital economy, Maxim Malaysia today announced the launch of “Drive For Inclusion”, a program dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs to become e-hailing drivers.
The initiative seeks to provide meaningful employment opportunities for members of the special needs community, many of whom face significant challenges in securing steady income. Through this program, Maxim is creating a pathway for capable individuals to participate in the workforce while enjoying flexibility, independence, and dignity.
As part of the program, Maxim has introduced special partner-driver terms, including a subsidized commission rate ranging from 0% to 5%, depending on driver activity. To further support participants, a dedicated daily helpline has been established to assist with registration, navigation, and technical issues that can be solved within 24 hours. The program also features a peer-support network, allowing drivers to share experiences and best practices.
“At Maxim, we believe mobility is a fundamental right, both for passengers and for those who provide the service. Talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Drive For Inclusion is our commitment to changing that. We are not just offering rides; we are driving change, breaking down barriers, and proving that ability always outweighs disability. We are incredibly proud to welcome these new drivers to the Maxim family,” said Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim Malaysia.
The program is already making an impact. One of the first drivers to join, Abd Hashim, who is half paralysed, shared how the initiative has changed his life:
“Before Maxim, it was very difficult for me to find a job. Many workplaces did not understand my condition, and I struggled to earn a living. Now, as a full-time driver with Maxim, I have flexibility, independence, and a way to support myself. This program has brought joy and hope back into my life. It proves that people like me are still capable, and with the right opportunity, we can thrive.”
