The 2026 PROTON S70 i-GT 1.5 has surpassed 2,000 bookings across East Malaysia since bookings opened on 7 September 2026, highlighting strong customer response to PROTON’s latest sedan in Sabah and Sarawak.
The strong response comes as PROTON brings the model closer to customers in Sarawak through its three-day roadshow at Vivacity Megamall from 9 to 11 October 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the S70 i-GT 1.5, speak with sales advisors and experience the model through test drives.
The Sarawak roadshow follows the model’s official launch in Peninsular Malaysia on 22 September 2026 and the East Malaysia introduction in Sabah on 3 October 2026. The roadshow gives customers in Sarawak an opportunity to experience the latest addition to the S70 family and discover its combination of space, comfort, convenience and safety features.
Stronger Presence in Sarawak
The booking performance reflects strong interest in the expanded S70 range, with customers in both Sabah and Sarawak responding positively to the 2026 PROTON S70 i-GT 1.5. In Sarawak, the model has recorded more than 1,000 bookings so far, contributing significantly to the overall East Malaysia performance.
The latest response also builds on PROTON’s growing presence in Sarawak. Sales in the state increased from 4,270 units in 2018 to 9,870 units in 2026, representing a growth of 131%.
As PROTON’s customer base continues to expand in Sarawak, the company is also strengthening ownership support across the state. Customers are supported by 16 authorised PROTON service centres, with trained service advisors and technicians providing maintenance and repair support, alongside access to genuine PROTON parts.
Parts supply is supported by the Regional Parts Centre in Kuching, helping ensure service outlets have the necessary parts to support customer needs. These efforts are guided by PROTON’s Faster & Better Aftersales Commitment, which focuses on improving service efficiency, technical capability and the overall ownership experience.

Priced from RM58,800 in East Malaysia, the 2026 PROTON S70 i-GT 1.5 is available in Lite and Prime variants, powered by a naturally aspirated i-GT 1.5-litre engine paired with a CVT and torque converter.
The sedan combines a spacious cabin with 10 class-leading features across space and comfort, convenience and connectivity, and safety.
These include an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Brake Hold, Key Remote Engine Start, one-touch Auto Up/Down windows with Anti-Trap, five USB ports and a Reverse Camera. Both variants also feature an extensive soft-touch instrument panel, while Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are available from October 2026.
Safety is supported by a five-function Rear Side Radar System, incorporating Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning and Rear Collision Warning. A Reverse Camera and Rear Seat Reminder are also standard across both variants.
