PROTON has released a mandarin version of its theme song for the Proton X50, Ready, Set, Roar! sung by popular Malaysian artist Suki Low. Fans can listen to the catchy tune by searching for it on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. The original song is composed in Bahasa Melayu and English, with popular singing group De Fam providing the vocals and performing in the music video. It made its public debut on 5 July during a preview event for Malaysia’s most popular B-segment SUV.
"Since it’s official launch on 24 July, the Proton X50 has developed a very strong following thanks to its product features as well as the popularity of its theme song. Cumulatively, it already has 3.1 million views across multiple platforms and following the announcement of our Roar To Fame lip-sync and dance contest, PROTON now presents a mandarin version, inviting more Malaysians to get rewarded while discovering the undisputed king for B-segment SUVs,” said Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Proton Edar.
More Proton X50 campaigns planned to continue building sales momentum
Fresh from being crowned the best-selling SUV in Malaysia for August as well as achieving 5,000 deliveries in less than 40 days, efforts to promote the Proton X50 have continued nationwide. After visiting states in West Malaysia before its official launch, the Roar Of Amazement Tour is now in East Malaysia making stops at major population centres in Sarawak and Sabah every weekend.
Additionally, as more milestones are achieved, PROTON plans for more promotions featuring collaborations with partner brands to strengthen the product positioning for the Proton X50. These efforts along with the continued use of social media content creators at a corporate, outlet, and influencer level will help keep the model as a top- of-mind choice for customers looking for a new B-segment SUV.
“The launch of the Proton X50 marked a new approach for launching, marketing and selling Proton models, and is also the beginning of a period PROTON will launch several new models, organize a technology showcase, and centralise all production activities at our plant in Tanjong Malim,” added Zhang Qiang.
