Daily office commutes during the weekday and glamping over the weekend, the best of both worlds awaits in our own backyard. Today, Volvo Car Malaysia unveiled the new Volvo EX30 Cross Country for those who want to experience the most of life from their fully electric SUV.
The first Volvo Cross Country model introduced in 1997 was specifically designed to handle the demanding Scandinavian climate. Since then, Volvo's Cross Country cars have been tested across every road condition imaginable – from wet surfaces and rough terrains to long highways and muddy tracks – and refined through decades of craft to deliver uncompromising comfort and confidence in the outdoors.

As a compact SUV, the EX30 Cross Country is well-suited for the streets of Klang Valley. With 360° environmental awareness from radars in each corner and multiple sensors, drivers can confidently manoeuvre through expressways and tight alleys. The car has pure electric driving range of up to 437km and zero tailpipe emissions, charging a 69kWh NMC battery pack from 10 to 80% in just 27 minutes*2 .
But as a Cross Country variant, it also has several extra features that makes for a seamless transition between the city and trails. For an extra boost up to the highlands or into rugged landscapes, the EX30 Cross Country's twin-motor all-wheel-drive delivers 428 hp and 543Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Fine-tuned steering software allows for optimised steering torque build-up, active return, and damping for a more control in tight corners and connection to the road.
Additionally, the EX30 Cross Country has a 19mm higher ground clearance compared to the base EX30 model. Paired with an advanced chassis design and 19''5-spoke wheels to better absorb road disturbances, the EX30 Cross Country brings superior comfort and stability on more challenging terrains.

Building on the EX30's achievement as Volvo's most sustainable car to date, the Cross Country variant amplifies Volvo's care and commitments further as an experience that protects people and planet. As a zero-emission, fully electric car, it boats a low carbon footprint and its interior showcases natural and responsibly produced materials, from upcycled denim textiles to bio-attributed Nordico upholstery.
The EX30 Cross Country is equipped with Volvo's latest Safe Space Technology and advanced driver assistance systems to ensure that those inside and around the car are protected, and the adventures 'there and back again' are told. A sophisticated suite of Volvo's state-of-the-art safety technology creates a safe space in and around cars, offering braking and steering support for collision avoidance, smart Driver Understanding system, and next generation Pilot Assist and Park Pilot Assist.

Whether it is navigating the cities or national parks, the EX30 Cross Country is designed look good while doing so. Its smart, minimalistic Scandinavian design is complemented by matt black and vapour grey accents, paired with distinctive cross-country detailing – from low-gloss vapour grey skid plates to matte black lower bumpers and wheel arch extensions. The signature Cross Country nameplate on the C-pillar and embossed CC logo at the rear, fitted with a low-gloss rear shield design, add a thoughtful finishing touch. Together they create a rugged yet premium aesthetic that accentuates the car's capability and presence, fit for any setting.
The interior room of the EX30 Cross Country takes inspiration from the indigo, deep blue colour of a starry night sky and surprising like the purple tones of the sunset's last rays. It includes charcoal-coloured woven textile that complements Nordico upholstery, denim decor panels, and blue air vent panels. A sunshade, panoramic roof allows for soft sunlight to shine through and experience all phases of nature's weather.
The EX30 Cross Country's infotainment system comes with built-in Google Services including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and a wide range of apps via Google Play Store4, all accessible through a 12.3-inch centre screen. It also features a sophisticated Harmon Kardon Premium Sound system that pairs seamlessly with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, delivering an immersive in-car audio experience within the cabin.
In addition to form, the EX30 Cross Country is also highly fit, incorporating the same smart storage solutions that remain the hallmark feature of the original EX30. The doors contain large storage compartments in place of speakers, which has been relocated to the dashboard a soundbar. A flexible central storage between driver and passenger is large enough to fit a handbag, and a removable rear box under the central armrest provides extra storage while doubling as a waste bin. The rear luggage space holds 318 litres with all seats up, or 718 litres with the second-row split seat fully folded, comfortably fitting multiple luggage, camping gear, and flat-pack furniture.
A handy ‘Will it Fit’ graphic on the power tailgate provides intuitive examples of what can be transported with ease. And if that is not enough, the EX30 Cross Country can optionally be customized with a variety of accessories to fit different lifestyles and activities, from mud flaps and load carriers, to bicycle rack and roof basket, and more.

The timely launch of the EX30 Cross Country also marks the debut of Volvo Car Malaysia’s Digital Service Booking (DSB), making it easier and more convenient for customers to schedule service appointments through the Volvo Car Malaysia website or the Volvo Cars App. Designed to deliver a more personal and effortless ownership experience, the platform provides customers with greater flexibility and accessibility when booking aftersales services. DSB is currently offered by Volvo authorised retailers in the Klang Valley, with plans to expand to authorised retailers in other regions across Malaysia.
